HLTPAT005

The course applies to individuals who are involved in collecting specimens for drugs of abuse testing. It will provide individuals with the skills and knowledge required to confirm collection requirements, prepare client and equipment, and collect specimens via urine and/or oral and breath testing. Participants learn the procedures that apply for drugs of abuse testing in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice. The skills and knowledge gained by completing this course would be beneficial for individuals working in collection centres, in hospitals, and in other health care environments and workplaces where drugs of abuse testing take place.
