Mental Health Support for First Responders is designed to equip first responders with the knowledge and skills to manage and support mental health, both for themselves and their colleagues. This course is tailored for individuals working in high-pressure, high-stress environments such as emergency services, firefighting, police, paramedics, and other first-response roles, where mental health challenges are often a significant concern due to the nature of their work.

Participants will learn how to recognise signs and symptoms of mental health issues in themselves and others, such as stress, anxiety, PTSD, and depression. The training covers practical strategies for managing mental health, including stress reduction techniques, emotional resilience, and self-care practices. Participants will also learn how to provide peer support, initiate conversations about mental health, and connect colleagues with professional mental health services when necessary. The course emphasizes the importance of reducing stigma around mental health and fostering a supportive work environment.

Upon completion participants will be equipped to manage mental health challenges, provide meaningful support to colleagues, and contribute to a healthier, more resilient workforce. This training is vital for promoting mental wellness and reducing the long-term impact of stress and trauma in high-pressure first-responder roles.
